And the Winners Are… (Drum Roll Please….)
The 2016 edition of our annual Thrive Team Throwdown contest wrapped up on Monday, and it was a finish worthy of the incredible accomplishments each team experienced over the course of the past three weeks.
Deviating from the format of past Throwdowns, this year’s competition played on an Olympics theme and was a hybrid of an initial seven events comprising the first week of the contest (the Heptathlon portion) combined with three additional events spanning the remaining two weeks of the Throwdown (the Decathlon portion).
During the first week, teams of two made two approaches per day (each person), completed a minimum of 15 minutes of personal development each day, and then tackled a unique “challenge” each day ranging from making a video of their USANA Story to reaching out to a Ruby Director and Above for advice to creating a unique MySmartFoods recipe, among others.
Each person who completed all of the Week 1 activities was then eligible to participate in the final two weeks of the contest. Teams of two were re-shuffled and merged into new teams of four, which then competed for two additional weeks over three new events. Points were awarded in those final events for new sales volume generated as a team, new customers or associates enrolled, and presentations given.
There was a lot of jockeying for position in the final days of competition, but when it was all said and done, the following three teams stood atop the podium:
FIRST PLACE: Team USANA Angels (2224 Points)
Rose Mahosky, Aurora, CO
Stacy Stehle, Thornton, CO
Vickie Haynes, Gillette, WY
SECOND PLACE: Team 24 (1996 Points)
Lane Ethridge, Wake Forest, NC
Rex Schoolcraft, West Wendover, NV
Jennifer Miera, West Wendover, NV
THIRD PLACE: MySmart Team (1747 Points)
Barbara Leach, Phoenix, AZ
Vicki Hassler, Denver, NC
Michelle Bertrand, Roseville, CA
Todd Bertrand, Roseville, CA
Each of the winners will receive prizes and the members of USANA Angles will have their names engraved on the Thrive Team Throwdown plaque to be forever enshrined as the 2016 champions.
The best part of any contest like this, of course, is the breakthroughs participants experience and the momentum generated in each of their businesses. People talked about how much fun they had, how encouraging the team was, and how they stretched themselves and did things in their business they didn’t know they were capable of. It’s always rewarding to step outside of your comfort zone and realize that it’s not quite as scary as you had imagined.
Even though the Throwdown is officially over, there’s still plenty of work to be done and lives to be changed. We can’t wait to see how each of your businesses continue to grow throughout the rest of this year and beyond, and we’re already looking forward to Thrive Team Throwdown 2017!
Until then, may you love life and live it to its fullest in happiness and health.
